A worrying 17% of jobs can’t be filled by employers because of a lack of language skills in the UK a new survey shows. In light of these findings, All Languages, a London based languages, translation and interpreting agency has begun a drive to help job seekers acquire the relevant language expertise that is so highly in demand with a series of convenient and cost effective language courses.
Research shows that the language skills shortage is accountable for one fifth of existing hard-to-fill vacancies throughout the nation, as employers struggle to find candidates able to communicate in French, German, Spanish and similar. In Northern Ireland the figure rises dramatically with 34% of vacancies unable to be filled due to an absence of foreign language skills amongst job seekers.
All Languages is a leading provider of translation, interpreting, transcription and language tuition services and is urging job seekers to tackle this problem by becoming multilingual. It offers a multitude of learning options for eager individuals hoping to secure their ideal job including newly launched online classes delivered via Skype.
Lorna Nelson, Managing Director of All Languages, says “Monolingual Britain is becoming a huge problem for employers, who simply cannot find candidates with the necessary foreign language skills critical to certain job descriptions. French and German are most in demand, followed by Portuguese and Mandarin as many business focus on growth in China. The highly skilled tutors at All Languages can teach all of these languages and many more, in order to train enthusiastic individuals who can eventually fill these vacancies”.
“Seven in every ten businesses value foreign language skills so all that stands between you and your dream job is an efficient language course.”
The language tuition provided by the Bishopsgate-based company is suited to all levels and abilities, from beginners to advanced business learners. It has been preparing students for the workplace with applicable language expertise for over three decades. It also helps make up the language shortfall with best of breed translation, transcription and interpreting services. Language courses are available in a range of formats, at lunchtime or evening weekly classes, full time intensive tuition and distance learning.
The company also offers private one-to-one language tuition , where the tutors can develop a bespoke teaching style designed to suit the student. This enables the tutor to extract rapid and high quality results, using specialised training and individual requirements. For the ultimate in convenience, All Languages embraces technology advances and is one of few providers to offer foreign language lessons through Skype. This enables students to learn in the comfort of their own home, office, on the go or from various locations.
